Femininity, family, inherited trauma. Who are we when compulsory gender is stripped away? 

This play has been supported by Migrants in Theatre and POMOC.

A series of workshops for immigrants who want to become drag kings and things. Aimed at diversifying the UK drag scene, the workshop took place in Liverpool; it had ten participants, who ended their work by performing at the legendary EAT ME & Preach drag cabaret night at The District. The workshops were conceived and launched in close collaboration with POMOC.

What do you do when you celebrate a 10 year anniversary of your emigration? Well, if you’re Rita Suszek, you do a show. And what’s more, you do a genre-bending, brain-swirling, form-melting joyride of a show. Expect to be walked through art-forms, events, gossip and the random thoughts from the artist’s brain….

An immigrant drag king after your own heart! Janusz likes to cook, mentor up-and-coming kings and is looking for a partner - a female lady human person who will take him as he is. 

Improv or stand-up? Neither! Comedy or drama? Neither! A duo consisting of Roderick Millar and Rita Suszek will challenge your preconceptions via a medium of slow, measured, improvised work. Unless, of course, they do something else.
